About Nadia

Born in 1985 in Santa Rosa, California, Nadia was drawn towards writing music from a young age. She started out on the violin, joined a chorus, and soon was developing her abilities on the piano and composing short pieces. In middle and high school her compositions were performed publicly. In college Nadia became a photographic artist and also studied a variety of tonal and atonal styles of music composition. Her visual art and writing were primarily avante-garde and image-based. She graduated with her bachelor of music in composition from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in 2010, and received her Master of Early Childhood Education in 2022 from Lesley University, where she studied linguistics and developed her creative arts practice in watercolor painting and sketching while also learning how to lead small groups in short creative exercises. After completing this training, Nadia moved to the North Shore of Massachusetts where she finds inspiration from the bird song and flowers around her. She joined a church choir at the First Religious Society Unitarian Universalist church and presents some of her art work at the Seacoast Artist Association. Many of Nadia’s poems are inspired by spiritual topics, and those of others whom she studies to turn into works of musical art. Nadia currently works as a customer service associate at Walmart, where she strives to help customers innovate and create in their lives. Nadia also serves on the Wilson Committee to plan a chamber music concert series each year at the church, and aims to inspire and invite contemporary creative voices to the North Shore for creative alchemy. Nadia continues a regular practice of composing music, writing, and creating art. Her interest in photography helps tie all of the other art forms together to help explore the meaning and language of an image, or basic idea.
